The film is definitely a product of studio meddling and the marketing of the film was a debacle!<br /><br />But you're right, the film has its flaws but I still love it, warts and all because you can see Barker trying so hard to create something special but his ambitions tend to overwhelm the film at times.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164105442273577128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-39523894317099821212010-11-01T08:51:15.132-07:002010-11-01T08:51:15.132-07:00I would hope so. I don't think the restored footage would make it into a great movie but I'd sure love to see it just the same.Jeff Allardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04265550466781988388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-57525635995057788832010-11-01T07:56:00.500-07:002010-11-01T07:56:00.500-07:00"The horror genre is filled with hacks lookin..."The horror genre is filled with hacks looking to make a quick buck but Barker is a true believer, out to preach the gospel."<br /><br />Barker is that, for sure. I saw Nightbreed on opening night and it was painful to have it slowly dawn on me that this was not the movie Barker had set out to make. While I watched it plenty on VHS, introducing it to various friends, it's now been over 15 years since I've seen any of it. Some day soon I imagine they'll figure out how to release all the cut footage for some special edition DVD.Will Erricksonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16285306262078600804noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-88367402317598922402010-11-01T06:26:14.903-07:002010-11-01T06:26:14.903-07:00That about sums it up, Aaron! Awesome. But then it turns into an unusually violent episode of Doctor Who by the end.Aaron Whitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06984139090619498661noreply@blogger.com
