Unfortunately, so much of the output--including I Know What You DId Last Summer and DIsturbing Behavior--just came off like one-off slashers, but I always did have a soft spot for Urban Legend and The Faculty for their meta takes on the genres. And let us not forget that Urban Legend may very well feature the best work Tara Reid ever did, possibly because it culminates in her getting an ax in her back.deadlydollshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06061028044836745499noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-37213898591089280212011-04-09T15:24:56.839-07:002011-04-09T15:24:56.839-07:00I really enjoyed "Urban Legend", but I a...I really enjoyed "Urban Legend", but I actually thought "Valentine" was more of a throwback to the slasher flicks of the 80s. Who doesn't want to see Katherine Hiegl get offed in the first 10 minutes of a movie? It's crazy to look back on these movies with nostalgia when it feels like it hasn't been all that long, but I guess it has. Maybe that's why I am somewhat excited for "Scream 4".Cheap Beerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06369598751083326676noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-78516741487839072702011-04-08T21:06:00.606-07:002011-04-08T21:06:00.606-07:00Hey Dom, I've often thought about revisiting I...Hey Dom, I've often thought about revisiting I Still Know to see whether or not it's as bad as I remember. I don't know how soon I'll get around to that, if ever, but I agree that the three top '90s slasher titles - Scream, the first I Know, and Urban Legend - were all fun flicks. The post-Scream horror boom is forever shit on by fans but screw it - I like a lot of those movies.Jeff Allardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04265550466781988388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-88695068894019438252011-04-08T19:21:05.774-07:002011-04-08T19:21:05.774-07:00Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban ...Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Urban Legend are all fine films. The slasher boom of the late 90's gets a lot of flack, but there were a few winners mixed in with rotten apples such as Final Stab and I Still Know Blah Blah Blah (ick, what a dreadful sequel).Dom Coccarohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15843380116571749866noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-67043786148557022022011-04-08T14:47:18.529-07:002011-04-08T14:47:18.529-07:00Yeah, it's not a great film by any means. Maybe I need to give a serious rewatch and enjoy it more for what it is than what it is not.Wings1295https://www.blogger.com/profile/08045644215235749353noreply@blogger.com
