I'm surprised that given its following that the DVD release - at least in the US - is so barebones.Jeff Allardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04265550466781988388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-21507184084890015972010-02-09T23:37:03.876-08:002010-02-09T23:37:03.876-08:00I have a soft spot for this one as well, it is so ...I have a soft spot for this one as well, it is so typically 80s with Haim and Busey (not to mention the rocket chair). When I first posted this, I originally went with a screen grab from the movie but reconsidered and removed it in favor of the poster, because it's such a great one-sheet. So subtle and understated - you wouldn't be able to tell what it was from across the theater lobby, you'd have to walk up to read it. Even King's name doesn't scream at you. Pretty classy for such a pulpy film.senskihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15469603484774090192noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-15614548243049836492010-02-09T14:27:37.874-08:002010-02-09T14:27:37.874-08:00I love Storm of the Century, too. And you're right that King should stay away from adapting any more of his own works. Although, I do have a soft spot for the original mini-series he wrote, STORM OF THE CENTURY. That one certainly has its moments.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08164105442273577128noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-7396477898325486382010-02-09T11:06:59.040-08:002010-02-09T11:06:59.040-08:00Thanks, PoT - there's a lot of love for Silver...Thanks, PoT - there's a lot of love for Silver Bullet out there!Jeff Allardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04265550466781988388noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4964885632131848660.post-6378232655279423192010-02-09T10:56:55.247-08:002010-02-09T10:56:55.247-08:00I agree, the climax ultimately failed but overall,...I agree, the climax ultimately failed but overall, I think its an underappreciated classic. In '85, though, I was just starting to become more critical of horror movies and this came off as lacking to me. Mainly I think that's because this was one of the first R-rated horror movies I went to see in a theater. I remember when my friend and I went to buy our tickets, the ticket booth employee looked at us and discerned immediately that we were not old enough. But rather than turn us away, she asked, "are you going to have nightmares if you see this?" We assured her we would be fine, and that was good enough.Bob Igniziohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03630416222197419152noreply@blogger.com
