I'll have to hold off on a longer write-up until later but I just wanted to say what an amazing time at the movies Drag Me To Hell is. Sam Raimi hasn't missed a step in his comeback to horror. It's pure bliss - don't miss it!

I couldn't agree with you more. This is easily the most fun I've had at a movie this year.
I was worried that the huge buzz on this movie would set me up for disappointment but thankfully that wasn't the case. Seeing a pure Sam Raimi horror film on the big screen again is a hype-proof event.
I just got back from seeing it...
I'm a lot less enthusiastic about it than you guys... I'm still mulling it over wondering why.
I guess I wanted it to be MORE over the top... and a bit less predictable.
But if I'd seen this back in High School I'd have loved it... so most of the problem is me.
In regards to wanting Drag to be more over the top - I hear what you're saying but when he has the old woman gumming Alison Lohman's chin, I think that's farther into outrageousness than most directors would venture. And there's plenty of other scenes where I felt Raimi crossed a line that others would back away from. Who knows - maybe in time Drag will grow on you, Knob!
